Art Of Small Things

I make work about what is happening just beneath the surface of visible life: the cellular matrix, the architecture of decay, the slow dissolution of a body or a mind. Fibre is my primary material, alongside drawing, charcoal, cyanotype and photography. Cloth meets a body first and last, and I am interested in what it can be asked to hold. I am a Certified Death Doula, and that practice is the research ground for much of the work, particularly an ongoing interest in shrouding as commemoration and art as a tool for processing grief. I am an artist with disabilities, and the slow, layered way I work is inseparable from the way I perceive. the world
